An evening about the role of helpers and rescuers during WWII. What is their representation today and could they be role models for an engaged civil society? With a focus on brave people during WWII, how they can inspire us today and the necessary mind shift to support an engaged civil society. The way we remember collectively determines the way we identify ourselves today: we are what we remember. First the three panelists will open their conversation by each giving a statement from their own expertises: Marjan Schwegman will set out the historic context, Avraham Burg will focus on the political perspective and Nienke Venema will bring in the perspective of today’s civil society. The public will be invited to ask questions and enter the conversation.
